Be obedient

Every time I read the Old Testament, I get so frustrated at the Israelites. They traveled with the physical being of God–as a pillar of cloud by day, and as a pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21-22) yet they had the audacity to disobey Him, to complain, even to rebel. I don’t know how many times I read that before it finally hit me–God is physically with me all the time. In fact, He (the Holy Spirit) lives inside of me and yet, I have the audacity to disobey Him, to complain, and even to rebel. When I see it in the Bible, it’s “how awful” but when I do it, I’m able to make excuses for myself. I don’t want to be that kind of Christian anymore.

I’m praying more diligently to be obedient. I’m trying harder to hear God’s voice and do His will. I’m asking Him for guidance about everything. What a difference it’s making in my life!

  • The more I listen, the more I hear Him.
  • Life doesn’t seem as overwhelming.
  • He’s helping me through my struggles, lightening my load.

It’s just amazing. It’s so amazing that I would love for each one of you to experience this! Let’s pray this week for obedience.

Luke 11:28 ESV
But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

Prayer
Please join me this week in praying for obedient hearts and minds. Let’s pray that God speak clearly to us that we may discern His voice and His will for us. Pray that we seek to be obedient every single day. Ask Him to guide us to do His will and to help us grow to become more Christlike in our daily walk.
