Be A Doer

Photo of a modern version of an old-style telephone with the words "Reach Out" at the top. Encouraging Christians be doers of the word, not just hearers.

Do you remember the old Ma Bell commercials?

James 1:22-25 (ESV) says:
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

This week let’s be intentional doers of the word.
Today’s task is to reach out to the person God places on your heart. If you’re comfortable calling the person, that would be great. If not, then send a text or an email.

Let’s “make this world a better place.”

Lord, Father in Heaven, please show me the person who needs to hear from me today. Give me the encouragement to follow through with a phone call and give me the words that will lift that person up. Help me to be a light in other peoples’ lives, Lord. Allow them to see You in me and want what I have, the hope I have in You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
