Let it out by Beeda Speis

I was greatly moved by this passage:

Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep…. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God… And David inquired of the Lord…
1 Samuel 30:4 & 6b & 8a

This is how we should handle difficult situations (IMO).

Let it out

Have you ever cried so hard that you could barely catch your breath? I’ve done this on several occasions. I let out loud and almost primal sounds. I let loose all of my pain and brokenness, or my rage, holding nothing back.

Gain strength in the Lord

I fall to my knees and give it all up to God, telling Him what’s on my heart.

Inquire of the Lord

Lastly, I ask God, what should I do next? How can I move on, move past this? I ask for wisdom and guidance. Then, I listen for His answer.

Don’t hold back. Let it out.

If you’re grieving and live near me, my church is having a seminar on November 14th called “Surviving the Holidays,” to help those who’ve lost someone get through the holiday season. If you’re interested, contact me and I’ll connect you.

Grief and sorrow

Please join me this week in praying for those who are mourning and grieving the loss of a loved one. Please pray for their comfort and healing. Pray that they seek help and don’t try to go through the process alone.
