The Fruit of Our Lips by Beeda Speis

These words just resonated with me this morning: “…continually offer the sacrifice of praise…the fruit of our lips,…” I never thought of praise as a sacrifice before. Even though I knew the Bible tells us to bear fruit, I never thought of my lips bearing fruit, but now–just imagine if we all bore fruit in words, sharing the gospel so that all could hear and be saved. At the very least, our words should reveal the character of God. Don’t allow cursing, gossip, defamation, and the like to be uttered from your lips. Always make sure your words are pleasing to God. (I appreciate that this is easier said than done, but it’s something we can all work toward.)

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Hebrews 13:15 NKJV

Please join me this week in praying Scripture to our Heavenly Father, and in singing His praises! Meditate on Scripture and give thanks for His wondrous mercy, grace, and love.
