I Dreamed of a Flood

A photo of a flooded street. Last night I dreamed of a flood. The words of Ecclesiastes 5:3 Living Bible, "Just as being too busy gives you nightmares, so being a fool makes you a blabbermouth."

Last night I dreamed of a flood, again. This was also part of my strange dream Sunday night. It was unsettling but I came through it (in my dream). The realistic cause of this dream is that it’s been raining here, a lot. I drove through some country roads where the water flooded the yards and fields yesterday morning.

The dream “interpretation” is that it signifies a difficult time in my waking life. I’m drowning in everything I’m attempting to do; overwhelmed with everything I’ve committed to. I’m falling behind on my to-do list.

Dreams are our subconscious’s creative outlet (my definition, not a scholarly one). I try to heed what is revealed in my dreams. Of course, as I write this, I’m mentally making a list of things I need to do today and something I wanted to remember to sign up for.

Bible Verse of the Day

Just as being too busy gives you nightmares, so being a fool makes you a blabbermouth.
Ecclesiastes 5:3 Living Bible

For a dream comes through much activity,
And a fool’s voice is known by his many words.
Ecclesiastes 5:3 NKJV

Prayer

Lord, Father, We praise You and love You. We thank You for Your Word. Everything we need to know for this life is in there and Your words are timeless. Father, please help those who are filling their days with busyness and redirect their focus on You. Reassure them that You will take care of their needs. We need only to rely on You. If our busyness is focused on You, then please give us the skills to manage our time wisely and not feel overwhelmed. Lord, we pray for those who are suffering right now. Give them strength and patience to wait on You. Your timing is always perfect and Your sovereignty over all things is our assurance that we need not fill our days and nights with anxiety and worry. Please lead, guide, and direct us, Lord. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
