Hebrews Chapter 11 is often referred to as the Hall of Faith.
- We’re given the definition of faith (Heb. 11:1)
- We’re reminded of those who’ve walked by faith before us: Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, the Israelites, Rahab, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets.
What an amazing list of the faithful! I encourage you to read the whole chapter. What I want to focus on is verse 6:
Bible Verse of the Day
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 ESV
Ponder and Reflect
God rewards those who seek Him. What rewards do you see in your own life? What blessings has God given you?
For me, His forgiveness and companionship are the greatest blessings he bestows during this time of my life. I’m thankful for everything He does for me, but for years, I’ve leaned on Him, talked to Him, and confided in Him because I know He hears me. I’m in constant awe of His grace and mercy. God is so good.
Prayer
Father we pray for others and ourselves who have not sought after You, who have not drawn near to You. We especially pray for those who don’t believe You exist. Please save them, Father. Call them to You. Give Your children the words to say to help others find You.
Lord, we also pray during this month of Ramadan for the people of Morocco. Please use the missionaries and believers to spread the gospel far and wide. Please make Your presence known.
Father, God, we emphatically pray for an end to the Ukraine-Russia war. Please instill peace in the battered country. Please be with the world leaders and give them wisdom and direction. We pray all of these things in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
