Whenever I’m struggling with something, I try to look to the Bible for guidance. I try to find a female in the Bible for inspiration and encouragement if possible. It’s my belief that God shared their stories for just that reason.
Jesus chose a woman to spread the word of His ministry (John 4:1-42). It was a woman He chose to spread the word of His resurrection (John 20:1). After His resurrection (John 20:11-18), Jesus first appeared to a woman. (John 20:11). Each woman of the Bible had a purpose, just as each man did. Their names, when listed in different genealogies were purposefully placed there so the reader would sit up and notice.
This week following Mother’s Day, I would like for us to pray for the women in our lives. Some have passed over, some are still with us. All have played a major role in the lives of those who know them. We are daughters of the Most High.
If you would like to send me initial(s), we can pray for specific women. I’ll start out with single initials for those I’m thinking of: A., B., C., D., G., K., L., M., R., S., V. You can contact me here.
Bible Verse of the Day
And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
Genesis 2:18,23 NKJV
Father, we thank You and praise You for Your word. Through this holy book, we’re able to draw closer to You, to understand Your will for us. It guides us. Lord, we are thankful for all of the important women of the Bible. They teach us so much about how we’re to live and they show us Your love for Your daughters. Lord, we lift up the women listed above and those not listed, that You would lead the unsaved to know You, that You comfort the grieving, and the lonely. Father, we pray that You would encourage those who are on mission. We pray that You heal the sick above, those who are struggling with mental, emotional, and/or physical illnesses, Lord. We love You and praise You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
