The Great Physician

People are crying out for help and there’s no one to hear them. Whether it’s because the healthcare system is at full capacity and its employees are burned out, or if it’s a side-effect of the pandemic which may or may not go away, I don’t know. All I know is that it’s difficult for

Good Luck To You

A week and a half ago, I took an unexpected trip to Mississippi to see my daughter. The trip was a learning experience that opened my eyes to several specific things that are wrong with the world today. I believe they all fall under the heading of “compassion,” or rather, “lack of compassion.” We’ll see

Fast and Pray

Today Christian Aid Ministries will be fasting and praying for the kidnapped missionaries. I’m putting this out there in case you would like to participate. Personally, I don’t do well with fasting. After a few hours, my body gets shaky and my head feels funny. It’s not low blood sugar because I had that checked.

Ransom

The articles I read this morning make it sound like the victims of the kidnapping in Haiti are doing okay, but I’m not sure if that information is verified or just wishful thinking. The ransom price is set and negotiations are in the works. One news article had a quote from a U.S. official saying

What is the value of a life?

Back in the 1970s, the Ford Pinto was mass-produced knowing full well that it could/would catch on fire if rear-ended. Ford did a cost analysis and determined that an $11.00/vehicle repair would be more expensive than potential lawsuits from burn victims and their families (See The Pinto Memo). They underestimated the number of victims. I’ve
