Christian Living

Beeda Speis’ daily devotional-type posts which often include her thoughts and feelings on a certain subject. Each post features a Bible verse of the day and suggestions for prayer.

Each week, beginning on Monday, she chooses the main theme and finds related Bible verses which she shares in her FaceBook prayer group, Pray In The Stillness (formerly 7th Hour Prayer Power). Come along beside her to pray together on a specific topic, need, or group of people.

She asks everyone to set aside time to be still and focus all of their attention on their conversation with God, talking to Him but also listening.

I believe that through the power of prayer, we can draw closer to our Father, glorify Him, and make a difference in the lives of others.

How’s It Going?

If you’ve done the tasks this week, how’s that going? Have you gotten any reactions/feedback? I’m sure the lives you touched were made better by your outpouring of love and that you’ve planted seeds this week. Pray that those seeds will be watered. I prayed throughout the day yesterday about the texts I sent out […]

Text the World

We don’t have to travel the world on foot in order to spread the gospel like Paul and the apostles did. We can transverse great distances online. We can see each other online or on our phones no matter how far away we are and in a lot of instances, no matter the location. Additionally,

Random Act of Kindness

Today let’s all commit to doing a random act of kindness. It can be as simple as a text or phone call or as difficult as doing something outside our comfort zone. Whatever God calls you to do today, be a doer, not a hearer only (James 1:22). “For a good tree does not bear

What do you do?

What do you do with God’s word? Do you hear it on Sundays (or on Christmas Sunday and Easter Sunday only) and then spend the rest of your week living as if you have no idea what the Bible says?ORDo you take what you’ve learned and try to apply it to your daily life? This

Be A Doer

Do you remember the old Ma Bell commercials? James 1:22-25 (ESV) says:But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at

Compassion Fatigue

I typed #compassion for my previous Instagram post and was surprised to see #compassionfatigue pop up as a suggestion with 27,272 posts! I had to check out what it was all about. It’s about caregiving; giving so much of yourself that there’s no you left. I understand that. I’ve been a caregiver and I’ve been

King of the Road

I’m that car–the one who’s stuck behind the vehicle going ten miles an hour under the speed limit with everyone behind me passing on the left (and sometimes on the right) so there’s never an opening for me to break free. I’m also that car–the one you see driving down the road with another vehicle

The Great Physician

People are crying out for help and there’s no one to hear them. Whether it’s because the healthcare system is at full capacity and its employees are burned out, or if it’s a side-effect of the pandemic which may or may not go away, I don’t know. All I know is that it’s difficult for
