Christian Living

Beeda Speis’ daily devotional-type posts which often include her thoughts and feelings on a certain subject. Each post features a Bible verse of the day and suggestions for prayer.

Each week, beginning on Monday, she chooses the main theme and finds related Bible verses which she shares in her FaceBook prayer group, Pray In The Stillness (formerly 7th Hour Prayer Power). Come along beside her to pray together on a specific topic, need, or group of people.

She asks everyone to set aside time to be still and focus all of their attention on their conversation with God, talking to Him but also listening.

I believe that through the power of prayer, we can draw closer to our Father, glorify Him, and make a difference in the lives of others.

Busy for God

Several months ago, I wondered if busyness was okay if I was busy for God. The answer is “no.” I found this out the hard way. Maybe I’ve already talked about this–I’m sure I have, but it’s worth repeating. I signed up for several Bible studies and life groups at the same time. My reasoning …

God is so good

This is so exciting–God is so good! I love when He shows me stuff. Yesterday I was looking for a specific Bible verse, but couldn’t find it. Last night I found it and looked up the commentary for it in my study Bible, which I wouldn’t have had time to do yesterday morning. The Bible …

Where Is Your Hope?

Yesterday the Pastor ended the service with two questions for us:Where’s your hope?Do friends and family know where your hope is? I know the answer, “my hope is in Jesus,” and I know the phrase is throughout the Bible, but honestly, I struggle with it. To me, “hope” means something we’re uncertain of. I “hope” …

Obey Your Parents

Some of the people we’re praying for are adult children. Even in their twenties or thirties, they’re still rebelling against their folks for control of their lives. They don’t want to feel like they have to obey their parents. However, the parents aren’t trying to control them. The parents just want to be a part …
