Prayer and the Word

Beeda Speis posts to her blog every day, but some days, due to time constraints or writer’s block, all she can share is a prayer and the word. Somedays, it may just be a Bible verse or passage.

It’s her prayer that the Bible verse will be the exact one that a reader needs to read at the exact time the reader needs to read it. God’s sovereignty is over all things, and all things work to bring Him glory.

It’s through prayer and being in the word that we draw closer to God. Taking that time to be still and focus only on Him allows us to build a more intimate relationship with our Father.

Have Not Love

Often when I’m struggling with something, God will give me a passage to help me through, especially if I feel “stuck”–as in, I can’t let go of the feeling or situation. Yesterday I was angry with someone and even though I prayed about it repeatedly and before bed, I woke up thinking about the incident. […]

Pray about everything

This is the home screen of my phone. I keep it there as a constant reminder to pray about everything (Philippians 4:6). Yet, I forget to do that, believe it or not. Whenever I have a lot of God-related plans (ie plans on how I’ll get things done that God has placed on my heart)

War Arose in Heaven

Another one of Satan’s falls occurs in the future; sometime during the tribulation period when war arose in Heaven. It explains the scene I picture when I read from Luke 10:18, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” Bible Verse of the Day And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought

An Angel of Light

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 ESV

He Shall Bruise Your Head

Satan deceived Eve. She allowed herself to be deceived. Then she shared her sin with her husband, who willingly sinned against God. As a result, we are all under the curse, (Genesis 3:14-19) the penalty of which is death. But, God knew all of this would take place and had a plan for our redemption
