God’s Perspective

Have you ever tried to imagine the vastness, the enormity of our God? Or, have you ever tried to imagine the magnitude of all He created? Have you wondered what we look like from God’s perspective?

Even if you answered, “no,” I hope you’ll take a couple of minutes to watch the above video, The Observable Universe (accurately scaled zoom out from Earth). Afterward, come back to this post.

Imagine

What did you think of the video? Better yet, what did you feel while watching the universe unfold before your very eyes? Imagine God, our Father who created all that you just saw is the same God who knew each one of us before He ever formed us in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5). This is the same God who formed each of us, individually (Psalm 139:13-16); the same God who knows has numbered each hair on our heads (Luke 12:7).

He is faithful and loving. He is our Creator. When I really take the time to digest all of this reality, who He really is, what He has done and what He continues to do for each of us–I just can’t get my head around it. I am going to strive to be more and more faithful to Him, to put Him above all else, to take everything to Him, and bow to His will for my life. Will you join me in this renewed pledge?

Prayer & Pledge

Father, You are so loving. Your grace knows no bounds. You created me with a specific plan, to look and feel and be the person I am and the person I will continue to grow into. Father, I am proud to be called Your child. I am honored that You would be mindful of me, of my life. I am grateful for the mercy You’ve shown me and the incredible blessings You’ve given me.
Father, I want to pledge to You, before these witnesses, that I will strive to improve every single day. Each day I want to put You first. I want to honor You and bring You glory. I want to take everything to You, include You in my life, my decisions, my ups and downs, the good and the bad, the laughter and the heartbreak. Father, I am so very thankful for the life You’ve given me. Every time I slip, or stray, or backslide, You forgive me. Lord, please order my steps. Help me draw closer to You. Allow others to see Your love through me. Words can’t express my love for You. They’re insufficient to describe my gratitude. Father, I love You and I need You. In Jesus’ most precious name, I pray. Amen.

Bible Verse of the Day

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
Psalm 8:3-5 NKJV
