What do you do?

What do you do with God’s word? Do you hear it on Sundays (or on Christmas Sunday and Easter Sunday only) and then spend the rest of your week living as if you have no idea what the Bible says?
OR
Do you take what you’ve learned and try to apply it to your daily life?

This past Sunday, I learned about being a doer instead of a hearer only. As a result, I’ve decided to be more proactive about being an image-bearer for God. It’s always on my heart to reach out to people but those types of things seem to get pushed back on my to-do list behind the busy-ness, so I’m making an effort to put people first, and “things” last.

I’ve been wanting to start a card-sending ministry for a long time, but again, other stuff got in the way. I bought the cards, but that’s as far as I got. Today, I’m going to send one with the hope that tomorrow I’ll make time to send one and so on and so forth.

Will you join me today in sending a card? If you don’t have a physical card and don’t have the ability to go out and buy one, there are websites available that have free e-cards you can send.

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Matthew 7:24-27 ESV

Please join me this week in praying for God to show you what you can do to become a “doer of the Word.” Pray that He shows you who to contact this week and that He gives you the words to say and share. Pray that God works through you and me to shine His light to everyone we come in contact with, whether it be people online, family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc.
