Channels of blessing

What if, when you woke up this morning, you only had the things that you thanked God for the day before?

Think about it. Did you thank Him for providing you with shelter? Food? Clothing? Family? Friends? Health? Medicine? A job? Transportation? Money in the bank? Your Bible???
If we really dig deep and consider all that our Father provides for us and how very blessed we all are, we should feel so incredibly humbled. I know I do. We can’t do anything apart from Him. Therefore, all we have we owe to Him. He provides for us day after day after day. What do we offer in return?

When I looked up today’s verse in the Enduring Word commentary, I was just blown away by what David Guzik wrote, “May have an abundance for every good work: God blesses us materially and spiritually so that we will have an abundance for every good work. We are blessed so that we can be a blessing to others. God wants us to be channels of blessing, not reservoirs of blessing.” (emphasis mine).*

How can we, as the Church, and as individuals channel our blessings to others?

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8 ESV

Please join me this week in praising God for His provisions. Pray that we may be image-bearers for Christ and that others will see our thankfulness for what God provides. Pray that God uses us to soften the hearts of the unbelievers we meet, that we can be a light, shining the way to knowing Him and resting in His grace and mercy.
